By using the latest manufacturing technology, Intersurgical has produced the first major breakthrough in oropharyngeal airways in thirty years.

By combining two materials with very different physical properties in a single moulding, our oropharyngeal airway design eliminates the need for the separate bite block found in all conventional oropharyngeal airways.

Loose or detached bite blocks pose a genuine threat to the safety of the person being treated and have previously been the subject of several safety notices. Our oropharyngeal airway design eliminates these risks. In addition to improved safety, the airway now has a soft tip that reduces the risk of trauma to the individual.

ISO 5364:2016 – Colour-coding guide

In the latest version of ISO 5364:2016 Anaesthetic and Respiratory Equipment – Oropharyngeal Airways, a new colour-coding requirement has been implemented with the aim of improving safety across products from different manufacturers.

Softer tip

Continuing to prioritise safety, Intersurgical has further improved the softness of the tip of all its oropharyngeal airways.

Oropharyngeal airways made of hard, rigid material may carry an increased risk of trauma. Using an even softer material at the tip of the airway further reduces the risk of trauma.
