Frequently asked questions about notebooks
Which cover fits which notebook?
Snigel Notebook cover Small 2.0 is 75 × 130 mm and matches Modestone's pocket model at 76 × 130 mm. Notebook cover Medium 2.0 is A6 and fits the A6 notebooks with top or side spiral. Check the dimensions before buying — a notebook that is too large bends at the edge and gets torn.
What is the difference between a top spiral and a side spiral?
A top spiral flips upwards and works best when the notebook is held in the hand or kept in a chest pocket. A side spiral opens like a book and gives a larger continuous writing surface when the notebook is resting on a surface. The choice is about how you stand when you write, not about quality.
What is the TCCC casualty card for?
DD Form 1380 is a pre-printed card on which information about an injured person is recorded and which goes onwards with the person. It is a standard format in training settings and means the information remains available even when the person who gave first aid is no longer there.
Do the all-weather notebooks work with an ordinary pen?
They are made to be written in under damp conditions, and the Sharpie pens in the category have been chosen to work with them. Pens with water-soluble ink, on the other hand, are the wrong choice in the wet however good the paper is — keep a permanent marker in the cover.
