By combining two materials with very different physical properties in one moulding, our oropharyngeal airway design eliminates the separate bite block found in all conventional oropharyngeal airways.

Loose or detached bite blocks pose a genuine clinical safety risk and have previously been the subject of several safety notices. Our oropharyngeal airway design eliminates these risks. In addition to improved safety, the airway now has a soft tip that reduces the risk of trauma.

ISO 5364:2016 – Colour-coding guide

The latest version of ISO 5364:2016 Anaesthetic and Respiratory Equipment – Oropharyngeal Airways implements a new colour-coding requirement intended to improve clinical safety across products from different manufacturers.

Softer tip

By continuing to prioritise clinical safety, Intersurgical has further improved the softness of the tips on all its oropharyngeal airways.

Oropharyngeal airways made of hard, rigid material can increase the risk of trauma. Using an even softer material at the tip of the airway further reduces this risk.
